Fall in Love With... Pumpkins!

DIY Decorative Pumpkin Tutorial on a Budget While scrolling through Pinterest for some pumpkin inspiration ideas for our front porch, there were SO many ideas to choose from that were inspiring, but the ones that really stood out were these gorgeous white pumpkins decorated in various gold patterns, and I thought how cute would this look! I tend to stick to a more neutral colour palette when it comes to decorating and so this was perfect. I still kept some traditional orange pumpkins in the mix to keep it within the fall theme. These decorative pumpkins are very affordable and easy to do, not to mention how pretty they will look on your front porch, on your dining table or foyer entrance!
Items you will need: 2-3 pumpkins (varying sizes) 1 tube of glitter glue (Dollar Store) 1 can of white spray paint Old flyers or newspapers I picked my pumpkins from the pumpkin patch at a local farm which was a lot of work but so much fun (thank God for my hubby who came over to pick and carry the pumpkin when I found one I liked lol), I got some larger pumpkins at 3 for $10 and some smaller pumpkin pie pumpkins at 3 for $5. The gold glitter glue I found at the Dollar Store for $1.25 a tube and the white spray paint I got from Canadian Tire ran me about $3.75. Directions: Step 1: Wash your pumpkins and make sure they are free of any dirt or debris. The smoother the surface the better, make sure not to pick a rotten or bumpy pumpkin.
Step 2: Dry the pumpkin, and place on a sheet of old newspaper or an old flyer outdoors or in your garage; if you spray outdoors make sure that it’s not windy that day to keep your spray paint from flying everywhere. Step 3: Spray your pumpkin; keep the can about 3-4 inches away from the pumpkin. You can hold the stem and spin your pumpkin as you spray for equal coverage. After you’ve sprayed it and are happy with it, put it aside to dry for about 15-20 minutes and move onto the next pumpkin. Step 4: Now for the fun part! Grab your tube of glitter glue (you can use any colour you want, but I used gold); and start creating a pattern you like. I did some polka dots on 1 and stripes on another to keep it simple, and these are probably the easiest patterns to do. For the stripes you can use your finger to even out the coverage. You can place your pumpkin in its designated spot almost immediately and it will dry over time.
